You do not need a referral to access our services, however with a referral from a doctor (including General Practitioners, Psychiatrists and Paediatricians) you can access a rebate from Medicare for therapy services and select assessments.
We do not do bulk billing. However, in most cases you will be able to access Medicare rebate on the cost or from private health insurance (if you are entitled).
We offer a number of services that are able to be rebated under Medicare or Private Health Insurance.
If you have private health care insurance, your insurer may be able to provide you with a subsidy for therapy and counselling services. Contact your private health care fund to find out more.
Our psychiatrists & psychologists charge a “gap” fee for the initial assessment session, then a reduced gap fee for sessions thereafter. Our psychiatrists also offer concessions at their discretion. This will be by negotiation and will need to be discussed with the individual doctor at your appointment.
Full fees (including Medicare component) are payable at the time of appointment by EFTPOS, Credit Card or cash, AND instant online Medicare rebating of the fee except the “gap” is available at the clinic.

with any queries about fees.
Waiting times vary dependent on the number of referrals. Once the referral is received/ reviewed by the DPP, and if accepted, you will be notified with an earliest appointment available.

Many people will only need to see the psychiatrist for 1 or 2 sessions and then return to their usual GP for ongoing management.
More complex issues might require regular follow-up with the psychiatrist over a number of months.
This will depend on the nature of the referral. Your initial assessment will be for approximately an hour.
People having “talk” therapy may attend weekly, fortnightly or monthly on a longer –term basis.
